10 Best Places to Stay in Ubud, Bali, Indonesia for Every Budget

Ubud is one of those places where it becomes very easy to extend your trip without meaning to. You book a few nights thinking you will quickly explore the rice fields and cafés, and suddenly you are spending slow mornings drinking coffee overlooking the jungle, booking extra spa treatments, and convincing yourself you absolutely need one more smoothie bowl before leaving.

Hi, I’m Phoebe Lee from Travel For Phoebe, and after visiting Ubud multiple times over the years, I have stayed everywhere from social boutique hostels to peaceful jungle resorts. Whether you are travelling on a budget, planning a wellness escape, looking for somewhere social, or wanting full luxury surrounded by nature, Ubud has some genuinely beautiful hotels and villas to stay in.

These are some of the best places to stay in Ubud, Bali that stand out for atmosphere, comfort, location, and overall experience.

Savanna Ubud

Savana Ubud is where I stayed on my latest trip to Ubud, and honestly, it ended up being such a good find. I booked it fairly spontaneously because I wanted somewhere central, comfortable, and reasonably priced, but it completely exceeded my expectations. The biggest thing I loved about Savanna Ubud was the atmosphere. It feels social and welcoming without having that chaotic backpacker hostel energy.

The property offers both dorm rooms and private rooms, and the overall design feels much more boutique hotel than budget accommodation. My room was spacious, modern, and very comfortable after long days exploring Ubud, with warm wood interiors, air conditioning, great lighting, and a really nice bathroom.

There is also a beautiful pool surrounded by tropical greenery, an on-site restaurant serving genuinely good food, daily breakfast, yoga sessions, and social activities where it is easy to meet people naturally. One meal I still think about is the vegetarian nasi goreng with crispy tempe, satay sauce, and pickled vegetables. So good.

The location is excellent, too. You are close to cafés, restaurants, massage studios, and the Monkey Forest area while still feeling slightly tucked away from the busiest streets. For travellers wanting something central, stylish, social, and affordable without sacrificing comfort, I genuinely think this is one of the best places to stay in Ubud.

Four Seasons Resort Bali at Sayan

If you are dreaming about jungle luxury, the Four Seasons at Sayan is honestly spectacular. The resort sits hidden beside the Ayung River, surrounded by rainforest, and even arriving there feels special thanks to the dramatic suspension bridge entrance overlooking the treetops.

The villas are stunning, with private plunge pools, oversized soaking tubs, outdoor showers, and open-air living spaces surrounded by jungle views. The infinity pool overlooking the rainforest is one of the most beautiful in Ubud.

The resort is also heavily focused on wellness, with yoga classes, meditation sessions, riverside spa treatments, and wellness experiences inspired by Balinese traditions. If you are celebrating something special or simply want a luxury escape that feels completely immersive, this place is unforgettable.

Alaya Resort gets the balance between convenience and relaxation exactly right. Located near the Monkey Forest and central Ubud, it puts you within walking distance of cafés, restaurants, markets, and shops while still feeling peaceful once you step inside.

The rooms are spacious and elegant with Balinese-inspired interiors, soaking tubs, rainfall showers, and balconies overlooking tropical gardens or rice fields.

One of the biggest highlights here is the DaLa Spa, which is honestly one of the nicest spas in central Ubud. The massages and flower bath treatments are especially popular after long sightseeing days.

It feels polished and upscale without feeling overly formal, which makes it a really lovely option for couples or first-time visitors to Ubud.

Bisma Eight

Bisma Eight feels modern, stylish, and incredibly thoughtfully designed. The suites feature Japanese-inspired soaking tubs, handcrafted wooden details, huge windows, and calming minimalist interiors that fit perfectly with Ubud’s slower atmosphere.

The infinity pool overlooking the jungle canopy is one of the standout features of the hotel, especially around sunset. I also love that the hotel sits slightly away from the busiest streets while still being close enough to walk into central Ubud easily.

Their rooftop restaurant, Copper Kitchen & Bar, is also genuinely excellent for dinner or sunset drinks.

Sri Ratih Cottages

If you want something charming and more traditional without spending a fortune, Sri Ratih Cottages is a really lovely option. The property features classic Balinese architecture, tropical gardens, lotus ponds, and cosy rooms with carved wooden details and garden-view balconies.

It is located near the Campuhan Ridge Walk, which makes it perfect for travellers wanting easier access to nature walks and quieter parts of Ubud.

Compared to some of the ultra-modern resorts, it feels much more intimate and connected to old-school Ubud.

Which Part of Ubud Is Best for You?

Honestly, the best places to stay in Ubud depend completely on the kind of trip you want.

If you want walkability, cafés, restaurants, and convenience, staying near Monkey Forest Road or central Ubud makes life much easier.

If you are more interested in jungle views, wellness retreats, and quiet mornings surrounded by nature, staying slightly outside the centre can feel much more peaceful.

One thing I would personally avoid is staying too far away unless you are planning to spend most of your time relaxing at the resort itself. Ubud traffic can become exhausting very quickly, and short distances often take much longer than expected.

Why I Think Ubud Is Worth Staying Longer In

One of the reasons I love Ubud so much is that there really is something here for every type of traveller. You can stay in a boutique hostel, a wellness retreat hidden in the jungle, a traditional Balinese guesthouse, or a luxury villa overlooking the rainforest.

And honestly, slowing down and enjoying your accommodation becomes part of the experience here.
