Universal Studios Singapore is a must-visit destination for thrill-seekers and movie buffs alike. Located on Sentosa Island, this world-class theme park offers a variety of attractions, shows, and dining experiences that cater to all ages. In this guide, we’ll cover everything you need to know to make the most of your visit, from practical tips to valuable information and find more inspiration here with our guide to 20 of the BEST things to do in Singapore!
Planning Your Visit
Best Time to Visit: To avoid the crowds, visit on weekdays, especially outside of school holidays and public holidays. Arrive early to make the most of your day. The park opens at 10 AM, but getting there earlier will give you a head start.
Ticket Purchase
Online Booking: Order your tickets online to skip the ticket counter queues! This means you can walk straight up to the gates and enter right away. Buy your Universal Studios Singapore tickets here.
Express Pass: Consider getting an Express Pass to skip the lines for popular rides. It’s a bit pricey but can save you hours of waiting time. I would say it is essential as I’ve visited with and without the Express Pass and when I didn’t have it, I was only able to do a couple of rides. Currently, Express Passes can only be purchased once you are inside Universal Studios Singapore.

Getting There
By MRT: Take the North-East Line or Circle Line to HarbourFront station. From there, you can walk to Sentosa via the Sentosa Boardwalk, take the Sentosa Express monorail, or hop on a cable car for a scenic ride.
By Car, Taxi or Grab: There are ample parking spaces available if you’re driving. Alternatively, a taxi ride from the city centre takes about 15 minutes and you can either hail a taxi on the street or use Grab (note: there is no Uber).
Cable Car: This is my personal preference for the best way to get to Universal Studios Singapore. You can catch the Cable Car from Faber Peak to Sentosa, catching incredible views of Singapore on the way. The ride is fast and scenic! Once on the other side, ask for directions to the free shuttle bus which will take you to Universal Studios Singapore and other spots on Sentosa. Book your tickets for the Sentosa Cable Car here.
Must-See Attractions
Transformers: The Ride: An exhilarating 3D ride that takes you into the world of Autobots and Decepticons.
Battlestar Galactica: Choose between the Human or Cylon tracks for a thrilling roller coaster experience.
Jurassic Park Rapids Adventure A water ride that’s perfect for cooling off while encountering dinosaurs.
Revenge of the Mummy: A dark ride through ancient tombs filled with mummies and surprises.
Dining Options
Mel’s Drive-In: A retro 1950s-themed diner offering classic American burgers and milkshakes.
Louie’s NY Pizza Parlor: Enjoy a slice of New York-style pizza with a variety of toppings.
Starbot Café: Located near the Transformers ride, and offers a mix of Asian and Western cuisine.
Practical Tips
Dress Comfortably: Wear comfortable clothing and shoes, as you’ll be doing a lot of walking. Don’t forget a hat and sunscreen to protect yourself from the sun.
Stay Hydrated: Bring a refillable water bottle. There are water fountains throughout the park.
Use the Lockers: Large bags and loose items are not allowed on some rides. Rent a locker for convenience.
Plan Your Route: Download the Universal Studios Singapore app to check ride wait times and show schedules. This helps you plan your day more efficiently.
Get a local SIM: Navigate Singapore easily, stay connected, call a Grab, find the best places to eat and so much more with a local SIM card! I switched to using Airalo recently and absolutely love their eSIMs as they’re super easy to purchase and install through the app.
Saving Money
Bundle Deals: Look for bundle deals that include park tickets, meal vouchers, and Express Passes.
Stay at Partner Hotels: Many hotels near Sentosa offer package deals with park tickets included. Find the best hotel deals near Universal Studios Singapore.
Public Transport: Use public transport to get to the park to save on parking fees. Singapore’s public transport system is incredibly safe, well-organised, clean and very affordable.
Universal Studios Singapore offers a magical experience for visitors of all ages. By planning ahead and following these practical tips, you can make the most of your day at the park. Have an amazing time at Universal Studios Singapore!
